INCREASED SATURDAY TRAFFIC EXPECTED AT BAY BRIDGE
Motorists Advised to Travel Off-Peak, Call 1-877-BAYSPAN (229-7726) for Current Traffic Conditions
TRAFFIC ADVISORY: BRIDGE RIDE FOR HEROES SATURDAY MORNING -- On Saturday, June 13, from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 11 a.m., motorists should be prepared for traffic delays on MD 2 (Ritchie Highway) and U.S. 50 eastbound from the Severn River Bridge to the Bay Bridge.
The traffic delays will be related to the Bridge Ride for Heroes, a charity event expected to draw between 500 and 600 motorcyclists. The ride will begin at 9 a.m. at Anne Arundel Community College, head south on Ritchie Highway, merging onto U.S. 50 (East) and will proceed across the Bay Bridge no later than 10 a.m. The final destination is Mears Point Marina in Kent Narrows.
Marked Anne Arundel County Police Department vehicles will be present along the route with assistance from MDTA Police and other agencies. Thank you for your patience.
The MDTA encourages motorists to travel off-peak. The best times to travel this weekend are:
Friday – before 10 a.m. and after 10 p.m.
Saturday – before 7 a.m. and after 5 p.m.
Sunday – before 10 a.m. and after 10 p.m.
